Met the guy renting a space adjoining mine today. Also met some of the guys opening a kitchen/bar on the first floor. A lot of good energy in the building. I am starting to get into the whole artist loft thing. A friend from work helped me load a pool table up to the room tonight. Setting things up tomorrow for the 1st day of painting, on the 1st. The inaugural painting will be started and finished in one day. After that I will probably keep a few in the works at the same time; finishing which ever one I can. Not really sure how it's going to work.

This is the first page of the Kingawappa story. The pictures are copied from the original notebook done in 1938. I am showing this if anyone is curious about where "Kingawappa" came from.
Not much to report on the artist front today. I did buy a used $29 brown corduroy recliner for the loft. At least now I have some place to sit and relax.
Just got a major phase of a project out of the way at work today, so it's time to focus on getting the space ready for painting.

I painted it on site, i.e. sitting in a chair on a balcony with an easel. The wind made it rather tough. The pic on the bottom is a negative. Looks kinda cool!
Just did a little more cleaning at the loft this evening. Now I am about to surf the web for artistic inspiration...

I'll put the art in party, baby, yeah!
It is in Bloomington, IL. Across from the Second Presbyterian Church. Southwest corner of East St and Monroe St.
Five guys are opening a chef's training kitchen on the ground level of the building. They are also farmers who grow there own food, all organic. They plan to put a restaurant in the building, too; if all goes well. I'll update y'all on the organic kitchen as it progresses.

Ramping up

Starting January One of 2010, I will finish one painting a day for one year. I will publish each painting the day I paint it, if possible.
If I must be sans internet access for more than a day, I will still finish a painting each day, and simply post the pictures when I get to a computer. Now I must prepare...
Oh, the painting to the right is mine. However, It does not count towards the daily total. Just making sure this will work.
I will jot a note, each day, about my life as it evolves during this endeavor. I will also include a discussion of the painting itself. I also may describe the creative process behind the painting, or I might not. But until January One, 2010, my daily posts will be brief; and will only concern my preparations towards this endeavor.
