"Squares" Acrylic. 3" x 3"

Tried to use painters tape to mark out successive squares. The paper tore so I tried this smaller one without tape. Must figure out what artists use to block out areas without harming the surface. Paraffin wax, wax paper and something called a liquid frisket can be used according to a quick Google investigation. Hmm...

"Dancer" Acrylic. 10 1/2" x 7 1/2"

This shows the progression of the painting. The approach was to just start and see what it looked like. It began to look like a woman in a dress, then like she might be dancing.; so I added appendages. I almost always start with only the primary colors, along with black and white. Every line in the dress is a different color; even if some only slightly different.

"Untitled" Acrylic on paper.

Tried out 2 new fine point brushes on this one. They do seem to work a little better than my old ones.

OK I am caught up now. I did each of these the day printed on the pic. I have witnesses for each except the Mar. 16th one (sunset) I did directly after the 14 hour drive back from Florida. That's dedication, if I do say so myself.

"Shark" Watercolor on paper. 7" x 6"

Framed 13 pics today using ones donated and some leftover which are stored just outside the loft room in the common area. Almost forgot to paint I was so into the framing. For this one I painted the shark on one of the sheets I had used to experiment before painting the water on the Kwajalein boat picture, titled "The Worthy." I had tried about 15 or 20 different techniques for the ocean, some using salt crystals to create the effect. I believe this was one of them. I tried the various techniques about 6 years ago, thinking I would finish the painting at that time, and still had them laying around!

"Empty Garden" Watercolor on paper. 13" x 7"

I have come to the point where I need to start planning what I am going to paint. Spending way too much time at the loft playing pool and musing about what to paint before I even start. Perhaps I should have several concrete ideas in mind as the week begins. This is a challenge!

"Toucan" Watercolor on paper 7 1/2" x 6 1/4"

I tried to just think of what to paint and then paint it quickly. I thought; jungle bird, feathers, leaves, shadows. The goal was actually to have something a bit more impressionistic. Looked up Toucan on Google images when I got home to see if it was even close. It turned out O.K. considering it was totally from imagination. It might be a baby Toucan with some slight deformities.
